The world’s top riders all feature on the preliminary list of athletes registered for the UCI Mountain Bike and Trials World Championships. In Cross Country, Downhill, and 4 Cross, the crème de la crème will all be at Mont-Sainte-Anne from September 1 to 5.
World Championship titles up for grabs!
All the 2009 World Champions will be there. Australia’s Jared Graves and Caroline Buchanan in 4 Cross, Britain’s Steve Peat and France’s Emmeline Ragot in Downhill, and Switzerland’s Nino Schurter and Russia’s Irina Kalentieva in Cross Country will all be going flat out to retain their crowns. All the leaders of the World Cup circuit will also be going head to head at Mont-Sainte-Anne!

A strong Team Canada
Team Canada has a great chance of ending up on the podium, largely thanks to current UCI World
Cup leader Catharine Pendrell in Cross Country and local star Marie-Hélène Prémont, silver medalist at the 2004 Olympic Games and 2008 UCI Cross Country World Cup champion. Prémont is currently ranked 13th. As for the U23s and the Juniors, Emily Batty (U23) and Antoine Caron (Junior) have had some great results on the UCI Cross Country World Cup circuit this year and will be well worth keeping
an eye on! In all, 629 riders have registered for the Cross Country, Downhill, and 4 Cross competitions. Trials riders will be confirmed shortly.
